The Tweed Run is held annually in London. Dapper Ladies and Gents put on the their best tweed attire and cycle through London.
The Tweed Run began in London in 2009 and started at the top of Saville Row with around 300 cyclists. Now in its tenth year the run has since grown to almost 1000 participants. Sister events are even held in cities around the globe, including the USA, Mexico, Sweden and Greece.
The London Tweed Run is approx. 12 miles of stylish fun, taking in some of London’s most famous landmarks, with places to stop en route to have a well earned cup of tea and a picnic. Our very British!
Riders don their finest Tweed and jump on their vintage bicycles. Once the ride is complete, prizes are donned out for the Best Dresses, Best Bicycle and Best Moustache.
It was in the 19th and early 20th century that Tweed was adopted as a sporting fabric, due to its resistance to water and wind, making it the perfect fabric for outdoor pastimes.
Tweed is essential for the Tweed Run, plus 4’s are optional, but a look that proves popular!
