Contrasting Material

Sometimes when designing your suit you may want to add a bolder design choice outside of the many lapel, pocket and button choices available. A great way of doing this is to introduce contrasting materials into the look, which when done well, can work as coherently as a suit that has the same cloth throughout.

Here at Gresham Blake we can put together an outfit for you from our extensive selection of materials, book an appointment and delve into the thousands of choices that we have at our finger tips, use linings and colours to pull the contrasting garments together, all part of the design process that we will guide you through.

Brighton client Mr Steele did exactly that.

Bespoke Gresham Blake Client Mr Steele recently popped into our Brighton store to see our resident Bespoke Tailor, Martin Jones.

Mr Steele wanted Gresham Blake to create a suit that he could separate up into single garments and wear as a 3 piece suit. Specifically a navy blazer teamed with a contrasting cloth that had clear texture and pattern.

Together they decided on a Prince Of Wales Check for the bespoke waistcoat and trousers, team with a luxurious rich navy jacket.

Each piece can, as requested by our client be worn on it’s own and teamed with other garments in his wardrobe. At the same time, it works perfectly as a 3 piece suit.
