Gresham Blake were recently approached by Saffron Sprackling, from 90’s powerhouse ‘Republica’ to re-create a look worn on-stage by Saffron when she performed the hit single ‘Ready To Go’ with Republica on cult show TFI Friday.
We were thrilled to be approached by Saffron and quickly arranged a bespoke consultation with Gresham & Fal Blake to re-create this iconic look.
The first thing to do was to get those vital statistics and choose the cloth, which needed to be as close to the original as possible.
Fast forward 6 weeks and this bespoke ladies suit is completed and ready for its final fitting, specifically designed for energetic stage performances, the jacket needed to be roomy enough to allow for Saffrons movements.
Saffron’s suit was made in a Holland & Sherry English Mohair, allowing for a rich and vibrant colour, with a slight sheen, great for stage as the cloth really holds its shape.
The bespoke Gresham Blake suit was lined in an intricate red skull design.
Saffron wore the bespoke piece whilst performing in Leeds at Dave Beer’s ‘Symphonic Sounds Of Back To Basics’, a night of infectious and energetic dance anthems, performed with a 50 piece symphony orchestra and guest vocalists. Great to see the suit in action.
We also saw Saffron sporting a Gresham Blake Bling Jumpsuit whilst headlining Bristol Pride, the relaxed fit of these Gresham Blake jumpsuits makes them great for Saffron’s always energetic performance.
