In the Japanese language of flowers known as hanakotoba, the hibiscus means "gentle." It is given in honor of visitors and represents the friendly customs of the Japanese. The greeting that the Japanese people use in their own language when meeting somebody for the first time is “hajimemashite.” This translates to either, “Nice to meet you,” A nod to the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
